Crafts « Life in a Barn

I have been sewing for a gallery opening in March, and I have finally finished the purse I was working on. I just thought I would share this one project piece. I started out with the idea of just black with a cowgirlish print for pockets and the strap. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to add. So, I decided to do some fabric paint stenciling.

(Using freezer paper and a exacto knife)

I did a cowboy pic and some lettering…

I really liked this kokopelli petroglyph looking fabric. You?

So my son walks up to Geek Adonis and says, "Daddy, can I brush your hair with a screwdriver"?

We are headed to a restaurant and my new month old little guy starts crying. Well, in attempt to make him feel better my four year old tells him, "Don't worry, its just a restaurant, not a dragon". WHAT?

This morning over breakfast I ask my son if he slept okay and he says, "Well, I slept two hours then I got up and sat on my bed thinking". "I was thinking about jumping with my cousins", he proclaims, "Then, I slept another three hours and got up". (he is 3yrs of age)

"Mom!" my son yells, "There are no more tennis shoes in the bathroom". My son is in the process of using the toilet. I ask, "Why do you need a tennis shoe?", he replies, "I need to wipe my bottom". It then clicks in my head that he is looking for bathroom tissue, not a tennis shoe.

We had just read our story and he was sitting in the rocking chair and told me his eye hurt. I looked at it and it looked okay, so I asked him what it felt like. He pondered the question for ten seconds or so and then looked at me and said "Towel."
