I am quite the novice when it comes to sewing, but it does not mean when my husband offered to build me this wonderful workbench that I would refuse. It all started when he was done with his workbench for his shop that I asked if he thought something like that would work for my sewing area. He says, (because he is so wonderful and astonishingly good to me) “I will do something better”.
He had to assemble it in the house because it would not fit through the door otherwise.
Our oldest decided it was a really good play den during the construction phase…
Add the bracing, almost done… (I was getting really giddy at this point, seeing it come together).
Here it is! I am so extremely happy with it. I told him to expect multiple compliments for the days to come. I know it is hard to tell the size by the picture, but I believe it is close to 4 ft x 8 ft.
Oh, and here is a picture of the shelves underneath.
Well, I have no excuses now not to get many of the projects done that I want to work on. “I am sewing mama, hear me roar”!

Oh, my goodness what a wonderful time I had last night! Ladies night out with some wonderful longtime close friends of mine was just so much fun. We visited a joint called, Sips N’ Strokes , that allows you to bring in any type of beverage you want while you attempt to stroke a canvas with a myriad of colors and hope to get a close rendition of what your instructor has demonstrated by end of class.
Let me start with saying that my ability to draw at best is with stick figures, so I was slightly worried at what my canvas would look like after two hours of throwing paint at it. Luckily, our instructor at Sips N’ Strokes was very good at explaining each and every step.
Ta Da, my blank canvas. Believe me their was a millisecond pause in my mind of stopping here. It just looked so clean and unharmed by human hands at this point. But, I had already paid my “jumping in and having fun” fee, so there was no going back. I was so so glad that I did, it was well worth it.
I did mention that this placed was called Sips N’ Strokes , right? Well as you can see we made sure to take total advantage of that offer and brought our own assortment. I personally was not able to imbibe any firewater, but I could definitely see where there could be an advantage had for those that could. An A type personality could be loosened down to a C or D within a few glasses of yummy over ripened grape juice and given the ability to paint with abandon.
As the night wore on….
we added more paint…
and concentrated deeply…
dried our canvas’s
and, celebrated our finished products!
It was a wonderful night had by all!

Have you ever spent an hour or over an hour just checking your different email, facebook, and twitter accounts? You may not respond to any of them, but you have to log in, click on certain ones, hit delete, log out, go to the next, yadda, yadda, yadda…
How about a tool that helps you look at all of those on the same widget or page? Geek Adonis (for those that don’t know him, that’s my husband) turned me onto Digsby.com . I am able to scan all of my email, facebook, and twitter accounts in just minutes. Plus, have all of my aim, yahoo, gtalk, and facebook chat contacts up there so when they come online I can chat (I am a girl, right?).
The chatting option really is good for me as a sahm. I would miss people all of the time on facebook or gtalk because I had just signed off or walked away and my status would go to unavailable. Now, I can leave that option open and turn the volume up on my computer and hear the lovely chime when someone contacts me via chat. Funny enough, I was upstairs putting my daughter down for nap, when I heard the chime. I know you may find me silly, but there are times when you are home all week long without any adult stimulation, a digsby chime can make your day.
Instant Messaging + Email Notifications + Social Networking = Digsby

I am so excited. Four of my closest gal pals and I are heading out on Wednesday night. We are going to Sips and Strokes to take a painting class. I am without a doubt most likely the worst painter ever, but its not about a masterpiece, it is all about a night out with the ladies.
I will try and document the process and let everyone know about the experience with the permission of my cohorts.

Warning…Warning….Warning…There is a woman in desperate need of a night out. She may be tempted to show up at random peoples houses with a ski mask and abduct people. She could be in a panicked, hormonal and pregnant state. So, please be careful and watch out. She was quoted saying, “This is my last month of freedom for many moons and I will do whatever it takes before I am restricted to my barn”.
Only 6 – 8 weeks left ya’ll till this lovely little one enters this world.

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statues. With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
Psalm 119:9 -16
