Ultimate Blog Party « Life in a Barn

This is my first year to attend the Ultimate Blog Party. I started with hashtag tweeting last night before the official Party started, thanks to Meghan who tweeted about it. I had meant to go to bed last night at a normal hour, especially since I have a cold/flu, but I was having way too much fun. I think I finally got to sleep sometime after midnight.

Okay, now a little about me.

I would describe myself as a christian, homeschooling mom of 3 beautiful kiddos, Gardener, Crafting Sewy Type of Crazy Person, and Learning Chemist in the Kitchen. I love to blog about homeschooling, cooking, crafts, frugal finds, and my family. I live in a small town most people have never heard of in TN on 18 acres that we want to hopefully fill up one day with flora & fauna of all shapes and sizes.

My Munchkins talk….

So my son walks up to Geek Adonis and says, "Daddy, can I brush your hair with a screwdriver"?

We are headed to a restaurant and my new month old little guy starts crying. Well, in attempt to make him feel better my four year old tells him, "Don't worry, its just a restaurant, not a dragon". WHAT?

This morning over breakfast I ask my son if he slept okay and he says, "Well, I slept two hours then I got up and sat on my bed thinking". "I was thinking about jumping with my cousins", he proclaims, "Then, I slept another three hours and got up". (he is 3yrs of age)

"Mom!" my son yells, "There are no more tennis shoes in the bathroom". My son is in the process of using the toilet. I ask, "Why do you need a tennis shoe?", he replies, "I need to wipe my bottom". It then clicks in my head that he is looking for bathroom tissue, not a tennis shoe.

We had just read our story and he was sitting in the rocking chair and told me his eye hurt. I looked at it and it looked okay, so I asked him what it felt like. He pondered the question for ten seconds or so and then looked at me and said "Towel."

Mom, "thunder tastes like cake".
